The Pupil Support and Transport Team provide transport to and from mainstream schools, special schools, colleges, and to interim tuition services; along with the remission of board and lodging cost for school residential trips.
Depending on the pupil's circumstances, we may be able to provide free transport between home and their educational establishment. This may be a place on a coach, minibus, or taxi; or in the form of a Zero Fare Bus Pass or a Travel Grant.
Both free transport, and the remission of board and lodging costs for school residential trips, are dependant on certain criteria. Use any of the relevant links on the left for more information.
As a result of the recent consultation the following changes will be made to the following Discretionary Areas of Transport:
i) Stainforth to Hatfield Visual Arts College. From September 2010 no new pupils will be given free bus passes unless they qualify under the Education and Inspections Act provision.
ii) Moorends to Trinity Academy. The Local Authority will cease to fund the additional buses between Moorends and the School
iii) Denominational Transport. No new pupils will receive free transport on Denominational Grounds from September 2010.
iv) Post 16 Transport. The planned changes for this area have been deferred to allow the Children and Young People's Overview and Scrutiny Panel to look at the possible affects of the changes on the 14-19 Agenda.
