The Council wishes to meet parental preferences for their choice of school. However, the circumstances at individual schools can mean that this is not always possible. If this is the case parents will receive a letter from the Council informing them of their decision, and of their Right to Appeal against this decision to an independent Appeal Panel.
Your application will only have been refused if the admission limit for the year group has been reached or in the instance of top year transfers, if you have been offered a place at a higher ranked preference. To admit any further pupils in either case would prejudice the provision of efficient education or the efficient use of resources.
All appeals should be made on the appropriate form in writing and returned as indicated to:-
Directorate of Resources,
PO Box 71,
Copley House,
Waterdale,
Doncaster,
DN1 3EQ
Please note this should normally be done within 10 school days of receiving your decision.
Your appeal will be heard by an Independent Appeal Panel within 30 school days from the date your appeal is lodged. The decision of the panel is final and binding on the admissions authority.
The booklets listed below offer detailed guidance on the Community School appeal process.
