The SIMS Attendance for Windows module enables schools to record and monitor all aspects of pupils’ attendance and absence from school. Schools are able to meet the legal requirements for attendance and absence recording; it calculates the attendance statistics which have to be submitted to the Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF) annually, as well as those the school must send to parents and those it must publish in the Governors’ Report.
The module provides information required by senior school managers to monitor attendance and take action on absences if necessary. It also provides information for Education Welfare Officers to use.
The module may be used in many types of schools: primary, middle and secondary schools in the maintained sector.
Attendance 6 will be gradually phased out and will be replaced by Attendance 7.
