Training events relevant to primary science can be found in the Professional Learning Programme which is issued to schools annually and available online at www.doncaster.gov.uk/professionallearning
Courses are also offered by the Science Learning Centre, Sheffield. Teachers wishing to participate in Science Learning Centre courses should apply directly to the Centre. Schools have been circulated with their course programme and course details can also be accessed from their website at www.sciencelearningcentres.org.uk
The local authority maintains a range of resources from a number of sources that have proved popular in Doncaster's schools. These resources enable schools to address a range of issues, including planning and delivering science activities, especially for those teachers whose expertise is not science. David has also produced tracking documents that help teachers accurately assess where pupils are making progress and where support is required.
Resources are available for Sc AT1 through Sheffield City Council at www.sheffield.gov.uk/education/information-for-schools/good-practice/curriculum/science/primary
