Doncaster Council's School Improvement Service provides monitoring, challenge, intervention and support to schools through School Improvement Advisers, Consultants and School Improvement Partners.
Purpose
To challenge and support schools in raising standards achieved by pupils and the quality of education provided for them. These standards are measured by national test and examination results and by teacher assessments.
Aims
To constantly and consistently strive to achieve the involvement of the whole of the Doncaster community in a dynamic learning culture which values creativity, high achievement and diversity, embraces innovation and change and provides life opportunities for all.
Mission statement
The Service will work towards its vision by:
providing effective and enthusiastic leadership to improve learning in Doncaster through challenge and support;
supporting and challenging schools through their own self evaluation processes and through effective partnerships, establishing high expectations and an ethos in which success is recognised and celebrated;
focusing our activities on promoting high achievement from the early years onwards in schools and the community. The guiding principles will be to broaden the range of opportunities for people in Doncaster and foster a climate of active participation and enjoyment.
