About the School Information Data Services

School Information Data Services (SIDS) provide educational statistics to Schools and Advisers, and offers support to schools on SIMS (Schools Information Management Systems), and to the Local Authority on the Extended Management System (EMS).

The School Information Data Services are responsible for the collection and analysis of school based information. The information collected is used by various Services within the Local Authority to assist in the provision of their service, and to help target support to where it is most required.

The SIMS (Schools Information Management Systems) Support provides advice, support and training for users of computer based management information systems that help school leadership teams administer and manage their schools to achieve school improvement targets and comply with the Department of Children, Schools and Families (DCSF) Information Strategy.
