The workbook

The Doncaster Charter Mark “workbook” is now available for all schools on this web page. 

It is a self-review instrument that can help schools respond with confidence to the inclusion section of Self Evaluation Form (MSSR).

The workbook also acts as a form of guidance for schools who wish to approach excellence in their work with groups of vulnerable pupils.

We are grateful to the pilot schools across all the age ranges who have helped the Local Authority (LA) refine the workbook, ensuring that it is a self-evaluation tool that sets rigorous standards for inclusive work.

Schools are now invited to use the workbook in the following way:

• Schools can evaluate sections and write action plans for the areas in which they see a need for improvement.
• Schools can then request a registration date when they are ready to be considered for validation as an inclusive school.
• There will be 4 registration dates per year and the LA will deal with schools in date order.
• From the registration date it is anticipated that it will take a school 18 months to 2 years to secure the Charter Mark.
