Inclusion, Development and Audit Team
The Role
To support schools in rigorous self-evaluation to promote high standards of provision for SEN pupils and other vulnerable groups, and to provide an independent and current appraisal of the systems and procedures operating within Children's Services.About the Team
The team comprises of a number of consultants and a Research and Development Officer who work with all seventeen pyramids within Doncaster Council.
The team works closely with other agencies within the Local Authority (LA) and provide a link between the Education Standards and the Children’s Safeguarding and Standards departments.
The Safeguarding Children Audit Officer reviews systems, policies and procedures for Children's Services.Key Activities
- Collecting and analysing data on a wide range of aspects associated with vulnerable children.
- Providing information and feedback to schools and services.
- Helping schools to audit and monitor their own Special Educational Needs (SEN) provision and identify future developments.
- Providing relevant training.
- Identifying and sharing good practice between schools, pyramids and across the LA and to support schools in accessing LA services.
- Networking with regional and national groups.
- Ensuring that referred children are assessed and reviewed within regulations, guidance and departmental procedures.
- Providing an independent and current appraisal of the systems and procedures operating within Children's Services.
- Carrying out development work for the LA to support the Every Child Matters (ECM) agenda.
