
Adams’ Ark was commissioned in 1983 by Doncaster Council and undergoes a continual programme of refurbishment.
The vessel was named after the late Councillor E. L. Adams, first Leader of Doncaster Council.
It can accommodate 11 young people in total, and is also designed to suit young people with special needs.
This vessel is a widebeam Canal Boat, with an overall length of 52 ft, an overall beam of 10 ft, and a maximum draught of 2 ft.
It is powered by a five-cylinder diesel engine with keel cooling, and is steered by tiller.
