Learner Support Funds are available in school sixth forms and colleges to help students aged 16 and above in further education with the costs associated with learning. These funds are to help support and encourage students who are facing financial constraints that would otherwise prevent them from accessing or completing further education, in particular where there are hardship and childcare needs.
For more details of eligibility and how to apply to the scheme contact your school sixth form or college.

The Education Maintenance Allowance (EMA) is a weekly payment of £10, £20 or £30, depending on your household income. This money is intended to help with the day-to-day costs when you stay on at school, college or training provider – such as travel, books and equipment for your learning provider. There are also £100 bonuses depending on the progress you make with your learning programme.
For more details of eligibility and how to apply to the scheme ask your Connexions Personal Adviser or at the school or college you want to go to.
