Student Support 2009/2010 Academic Year - New Students

Information for students commencing their courses from September 2009 onwards

If you are starting a course of higher education at University in 2009 and you are intending to apply for financial help, you will need to apply for this support directly to a new agency - Student Finance England

Local Authorities are not responsible for processing student finance applications for 2009 University entrants. Instead your application will be dealt with centrally by Student Finance England.

Student Support 2009/2010 Academic Year - Continuing Students

Information for students continuing their courses in September 2009

Students continuing with their studies need to renew their application for financial help in each year of the course.

The Student Loans Company should have contacted you about how to renew your Student Support for the 2009/2010 academic year prior to Christmas 2008. You can either apply online or contact the Student Support Section to obtain an application form, once completed it should be returned to this department.  You will then be informed of your entitlement.

If you have just completed an HND or Foundation Degree and are topping up to a degree, or have just completed a degree and now wish to study a PGCE, you are deemed to be a new student and you should follow the advice as above. (see Information for students commencing their courses from September 2009 onwards)
