What are Children's Centres?

Sure Start Children’s Centres are at the heart of the Government’s strategy to deliver better outcomes for families and are designed to give every child the best start in life.

Children’s Centres aim to act as a central point where families can access information and services from a team of professionals which include Health Visitors and Midwives.

There are currently 21 Children’s Centres throughout Doncaster, each centre provides different activities which are tailored to meet the needs of their local community.  Children’s Centres are there to provide support, advice, information and fun.

What can a Children's Centre offer?

Each Children's Centre offers a wide range of support services for parents from conception to children up to the age of 5 years, you can go there for:

• Toddler groups and childcare

• Baby clinics run by a Health Visitor

• A place to meet other mums and make friends

• Help to get a job or find a training course

• Toy library…and much much more!
