Older People's White Paper

In All Our Interests - The Future of Older People's Services in Doncaster

Background

In 2007, a working group examined policy issues and future options for older people’s services in Doncaster. The working group produced the Community White Paper, "In All Our Interests" as a consultation document, outlining current provision and the changes and improvements that were proposed.

Consultation took place in September/October 2007. A copy of the responses is available to download from this page.

The White Paper has been rewritten to take account of the consultation and also the recommendations made by the Commission for Social Care Inspection (CSCI) as part of its Annual Performance Assessment of social care services for adults in Doncaster and their inspection of older people’s services during April/May 2007. The results of their inspection can be downloaded from this page.

The White Paper

The White Paper outlines the vision for older people’s services in Doncaster and six priorities for improvement. Proposed key actions until 2011 are listed along with the anticipated impact.

The outline action plan gives more detail on the proposed priority actions and can be viewed from the document in the right hand menu.

The White Paper demonstrates a Council-wide commitment to improving services for older people in Doncaster. Progress on the implementation of the White Paper and action plan will be monitored by the Healthier Communities and Vulnerable People Overview and Scrutiny Panel. Details of their meetings can be found on the following page:
