Doncaster Council is committed to providing a range of good quality social care to help people live as independently as possible in their own home. We do this by responding to individually assessed needs and the wishes of users and their carers.

We aim to provided help on an individual basis to adults and children who have:

  • Mental health related needs

What can you expect from us?

We will:

  • Respect your way of life and dignity
  • Be sensitive to the needs of people from different ethnic and cultural backgrounds

  • Make sure the service is properly managed and the staff are well trained
  • Offer freedom of choice and independence
  • Provide a flexible approach to meet individual needs

When can we help?

Each person who applies or is referred to Doncaster Council will have their needs assessed. This means that someone from Doncaster Council will visit you at home or in hospital. They will talk to you and, if you agree, will also talk to the person who cares for you and (in some cases) your Doctor or Health Visitor, about your needs. Once your needs have been assessed we will write down exactly what has been agreed in a Care Plan. The Care Plan will be reviewed from time to time to make sure that it still meets your needs. Our services are available during the day, evening and night, seven days a week, including public and school holidays.
