Level 2 Award in Health & Safety in Health and Social Care

Who should attend?
This course is suitable for anyone who is working within health and social care in the public or private sectors. It will help staff recognise the causes of harm and understand the significant risks that their actions can have on the health and safety of patients/clients and colleagues in their work environment.

Course Content
In an informal atmosphere, the training program and assessment will enable candidates to understand the:

  • Health, safety and welfare of staff and patients/clients in the health and social care sector
  • Importance of risk assessment in the prevention of accidents and occupational ill-health
  • Relevant legislation relating to good hygiene practice 
  • Concepts of hygiene hazards and infection control 
  • Importance of good personal hygiene 
  • Need for high standards of cleanliness to help prevent infection

The training programme is divided into 2 parts:
Part 1 - An introduction to Health and Safety
Part 2 - Hygiene     

Duration
The course is of approximately 8 hours duration including refreshment breaks and exam. It can be presented to suit individual company requirements, i.e. weekends, mornings, evenings etc.

The Course is followed by a short multiple choice test comprising of 30 questions. The pass mark being 20. The test can be conducted orally for anyone who has reading difficulties, provided we are notified in advance of the course date.

Qualification
All successful candidates will receive the nationally recognised Level 2 Award in Health & Safety in Health and Social Care certificate.

Cost
The course is delivered in-house (customer provides venue and refreshments):
Tuition Fee per course £220 plus £20 per delegate (courses are charged for a minimum of 6 people).
