Who should attend?
This course is suitable for anyone who is working in the food environment. It has been designed to give an appreciation of the fundamentals of good safe practice. The courses are available to individual candidates or can be customised to meet an organisation’s specific needs.

Course Content
In an informal atmosphere, the following issues are included:-

  • Simple Bacteriology
  • Food Poisoning and its Prevention
  • Prevention of Food Contamination
  • Personal Hygiene
  • Design of Premises and Equipment
  • Cleaning and Disinfection
  • Pest Control
  • Hazard Analysis
  • Legal Requirements under Current Legislation                                

Duration
The course is of approximately 8 hours duration including refreshment breaks and exam. It can be presented to suit individual company requirements, i.e. weekends, mornings, evenings etc.

The Course is followed by a short multiple choice test comprising of 30 questions. The pass mark being 20. The test is available in a range of ethnic languages (see below) or can be conducted orally for anyone who has reading difficulties, provided we are notified in advance of the course date.

Qualification
All successful candidates will receive the nationally recognised Level 2 Award in Food Safety in Catering Certificate.

Tuition Fee per course £220 plus £20 per delegate (courses are charged for a minimum of 6 people).
