The aim of the Food Safety and Standards Team is to ensure the protection and good health of consumers in Doncaster by promoting and maintaining high standards of quality and safety within the food producing, manufacturing catering and retail businesses.

In carrying out its functions it is responsible for enforcing in all food premises, the requirements of the Food Safety Act 1990 and associated regulations, dealing with standards of hygiene and the composition and labelling of food.
