Specialist Educational and Development Team (SpEDT)
About the team
SpEDT is made up of three individual teams:
- Service for Children with Autistic Spectrum Disorders (ASD Team)
- Service for Children with a Hearing Impairment (SCHI)
- Service for Children with a Visual Impairment (SCVI)
The aims of all the teams are encompassed in one broad aim which is to “develop and monitor high quality services to children, schools and families in association with other agencies”. The Service supports Doncaster Council's Transformational goals, the Local Authority (LA) Educational Development Plan and has played a large role in the development of the Strategic Plan for Inclusion. We are anxious that all stakeholders are fully aware and contribute to the development of the service, now and in the future.
All teams provide written guidelines and information for schools, parents and other agencies. It is envisaged that much of this information will be available electronically in the near future.
There are strong links with other non-maintained educational establishments and voluntary agencies.
