Doncaster Council's Schools Catering Service employs approximately 600 permanent and relief staff in 124 kitchens.  

They produce approximately 4 million meals per year including meals specially prepared for pupils with special or medical diets.

A relief General Kitchen assistants main duties include:-

  • Food Service and portion control
  • Cleaning food production and service areas, equipment and utensils.

Catering Assistants Term Time work available £7.33 per hour.

You don't need to have any previous experience as full training and inductions will be given for all positions.

Training in Doncaster Schools Catering

Most of the training provided to schools catering staff is in partnership with Doncaster College and the school FEAST training centre located at the HUB. The schools FEAST centre is 1 of 29 regional centres across England, where training is provided for schools and schools catering staff in order to improve the school dining experience.
