Book of Remembrance
Book of Remembrance
The volumes of the Book of Remembrance provide a simple and lasting memorial. The inscriptions are displayed in the Chapel of Remembrance on our display panels for approximately 6 - 8 years, depending on how many inscriptions are applied for in any one year. Once the panels become full the page is taken down from the panel and bound into the Book, where this can be opened on request.
The Book of Remembrance room is open Mon - Friday 9am - 5pm.
The inscriptions can also be viewed on line if you use the link provided on the Doncaster's Web Page. Please be aware that there will be a delay of approximately six months between applying for the inscription and this being viewed online.
Online Book of Remembrance
The Book of Remembrance has been digitised and is now available to view online by visiting the link below. The digitising of recent applications into the Book of Remembrance may not be available online for a period of up to 6 months after the inscription has been applied for. Once you have selected the link below to the online facility there are instructions on how to locate the inscriptions.
Please be aware that the inscriptions into the Book of Remembrance must be applied for, unfortunately sometimes it is assumed that if the person was cremated at the crematorium they will be automatically placed into the Book.
An application form for an entry into the book is available to download in the documents section of this web page.
