Getting Copies of Certificates

How you can get copies of certificates

You can obtain copies of certificates by telephone, giving information of the entry required and providing your credit card details, or by printing out and completing the Certificate Application Form and sending it by post with the appropriate fee. Cheques or Postal Orders should be made payable to DMBC.

Please Note:

  • Family history applicants

  • Applicants who cannot supply full information

  • Applicants requiring certificates from more than one register entry

If you fall into one or more of the above categories then you are requested to submit your application by post. 

Fees (correct to 31/3/2013)

Where the entry is in a completed register, held by the Superintendent Registrar: 

For Priority Same Day Service:

Full birth certificate£15.00 
Short birth certificate £15.00 
Marriage certificate £15.00 
Death certificate £15.00 

 

 


 

For Collection / Posting In 5 Working Days Service:

Full birth certificate£10.00 
Short birth certificate £10.00 
Marriage certificate £10.00 
Death certificate £10.00 


 

 

Any event more than 6 months old is likely to be in a completed register.

At time of registration:

Subsequent applications from a current register:
