Responsibilities
The Economic Policy Team is responsible for delivering a range of priorities linked to supporting Doncaster's residents during the current, and future, economic climates.
The team works closely with colleagues across the council and with partner organisations to develop policy and strategy that is best fit for Doncaster and that aligns with national, regional and sub-regional policy. It has a number of key workstreams which include:
Driving delivery of Doncaster's Economic Strategy.
Development and Implementation of the Work, Skills and Enterprise Programme, a coordinated approach to Skills, Worklessness and Enterprise and is one of the key challenges the Borough faces
The Enterprising Doncaster Board
The Economic Policy team also has a responsibility for the facilitation and management of the Enterprising Doncaster Board. This is the strategic partnership for the Borough responsible for coordinating our approach to Skills, Employment and Enterprise, and has a strong role to play in the development of economic policy. The Board is private sector led, with key employers and businesses represented alongside key public sector partner agencies including Jobcentre Plus, the Learning and Skills Council, Yorkshire Forward and the Council.
The Enterprising Doncaster Board is the overarching body that provides strategic steer for the work, skills and enterprise agenda for the Borough of Doncaster.
Its website reflects the direction of the Board and includes up to date news and information surrounding the Board as well as links to Twitter and LinkedIn.
