When is the court office open ?
The court building is open to the public half an hour before the first hearings are due to begin each day.
The counter service is open from 10.00am until 4.00pm each weekday.
The court is closed weekends and bank holidays.
Directions to the court
The main bus stops are not more than 5 minutes walk from the court.
The main line railway station is 15 minutes walk from the court.
The nearest car parking facilities are opposite the Waterdale Shopping Centre which is 5 minutes walk from the court.

The Court Service is committed to provide a high standard of service to all its customers. Details of the services we offer and the standards of service are contained in the Charter for Court Users. You will find posters showing our performance against these standards in all courts.

What if I need special help?
If you need special help contact the Customer Service Officer who is Mrs. Hazel Hepworth, who can arrange additional help if, for example, you are disabled.
What if I am not happy with the service I get from the Court?
The Court Service is always happy to receive comments on its service. A leaflet is available which explains how you can make a complaint.

If you have any suggestions or comments on the service provided by the court, please contact the Customer Service Officer.
Money Claim Online
This is a new service that the Court Service is offering to its customers.
- If you want to issue a county court claim - and have it issued and posted within 48 hours
- If you have access to the Internet you can send your claim details at anytime of the day or night.
- If you have a credit or debit card you can use them to pay the fee.
To issue a claim on line:
- There should be no more than two defendants
- The postal address should be within England and Wales
- The claim should be less than £100,000 and be for a fixed amount of money (a `specified amount`)
